This was my first experience buying a car on eBay. Getting a third party to ship the vehicle was the most difficult part of the process. Beware here and don't necessarily jump at the cheapest quote for shipping, as most companies simply post the shipping jobs on a board and the drivers pick them of their own accord, based mainly on how much they will get paid (i.e. I jumped at a low quote and the company could not convince a driver to ship the vehicle for such a low amount).
As for the vehicle itself I bought it really for one reason: fuel economy. www.fueleconomy.gov lists the AWD 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander at 26 mpg hwy / 21 mpg city. I haven't gotten quite that good yet, but pretty close and the weather is fairly cold where I live at the moment.
Mitsubishi seems to be on the up and up. The interior is fairly nice, albeit a bit futuristic looking. The fabric seats are actually quite comfortable, reminds me a bit of a microfiber couch. I really like the controls on the steering wheel for cruise, volume control and mobile phone blue tooth. The temperature control dials in the middle of the console are a bit junky and take away from the overall feel of interior, but otherwise its not too bad.
The exterior is OK I suppose. I am 26 and single and wasn't quite ready submit to a minivan culture (I haul biomedical research equipment around for a living). For me this vehicle looks a lot like a Rav4 but without the ridiculous and wholly unattractive plastic wheel cover mounted on the back. The liftage is very convenient, as the bottom "lip" is lowerable, in a similar manner to what you would see on traditional pickup truck. It makes loading/unloading equipment/cargo a cinch, with very good clearance.
One complaint is the overall wheelbase or "width" of the vehicle. Its a bit skinnier than my previous crossover/small SUV Toyota Highlander. I just took a road trip down to nashville, tn (3.5 hours) and my three buddies were pretty cramped in the back seats. Luckily, I have a flip down DVD player, so it kept the "kids" quiet for most of the trip.
5 year / 60 K Full Warranty is a definite plus.
Only had the vehicle a few weeks but overall I very happy! Source: eBay Motors Reviews |

Ever since I bought it 5 years ago - it's been a pleasure driving it.... So far ( knocking on wood), I have changed only brakes, tires and fluids. Exceptional SUV!!! Space, comfort...everything you would want from a small size SUV. Good gas mileage, great look. I just love it! Source: eBay Motors Reviews |
